I’m a lifelong fan of Doctor Who and have watched it since the days of William Hartnell. One of the reasons I like the show is that it works on so many different levels: it has good stories, interesting ideas and some very funny lines. It also has a philosophy very much in accordance of my own, that intelligence is a better way of solving problems than violence.

One characteristic of The Doctor is that he rarely uses physical weapons. This was captured perfectly by Sylvester McCoy’s Doctor when he said: “Weapons. Always useless in the end”
