Here’s a nice response to all those twitterers out there – tell them they can go tweet your shorts!

OK, it’s an obvious joke. But it’s also a bit cleverer than that. Tweets can only be 140 characters long. So they’re “short”.As in “shorts”.

As in “Tweet My Shorts”.

Minus e to the i pi Tee

Here’s one for the mathematicians out there: show everyone you’re number e to the minus i pi. Or, as mere mortals would say, number one!

“Turn Off the Camera” T Shirt

Are you fed up of living in a surveillance state where Big Brother watches your every move? Are you sick of CCTV cameras following you everywhere? Then give the metaphorical finger to the CCTV operators with this shirt design.

The text is in the form of an eye test chart with the letters getting gradually smaller. If nosey CCTV operators zoom in for a better look they’ll see that it actually says: “If you can read this turn off the camera and mind your own business”.

2012 Doomsday T Shirt

If like me you’re interested in conspiracy theories, end of the world prophecies and general weirdness then you’ll be aware that 2012 is an important year. And not in a good way.

December 21st 2012 is the final day of the ancient Mayan calendar. Some people that this means humanity will be wiped out one way or another – be it by nuclear war, a giant meteorite or bird flu.

Others see 2012 as the year the New World Order finally achieves its goal of a crypto-fascist one world government.

If like me you’re a geek of a certain age then you probably spent many hours on text adventure games. In particular Colossal Cave, one of the first to be widely available. I wasted many nights at Uni trying to get through the game.

I still remember much of it clearly – such as the way to kill the dragon. I also remember “A hollow voice says ‘Plugh’”. Well, this tee has the word “Plugh” spelled out in a hollow voice for those in the know.

Inside Out T Shirt

This is another example of my weird sense of humour and love of the cognitive dissonance.

It’s a simple idea: the words on the shirt say “Inside out”… backwards. So it looks like it’s inside out. If you took it off and put it on inside out then the words would be the right way round… but on the inside. So it would be inside out outside in.

Don’t think about it too much, it’s starting to make my head hurt.

Sober In The Morning

I do like a good putdown. This one is attributed to Winston Churchill.

A woman once – correctly – accused Churchill of being drunk. There are different versions of his reply but the one usually quoted is: “And you, madam, are ugly. But in the morning, I shall be sober”

That line is the basis of this tee. Next time someone accuses you of being drunk, just think of Churchill’s words. You don’t have to say anything, your reply is already staring them in the face.

And what a face.

Shame Again Please T Shirt

This is the sort of tee that I’d wear to a pub or a party. The first word to catch your eye is, of course, “shame”. But below that in smaller print are the words “again please” – which totally change the meaning.

“Shame again please”. It sounds like someone who’s had a few drinks slurring their words when saying “Same again please”. Been there, done that

Then again there’s another interpretation. Maybe this is an indication of debauched evenings to come and those ahead. Maybe it’s even an invitation.

I Tweet Therefore I Am

Social networking has taken the world by storm – and Twitter has taken social networking by storm.

It seems that everyone is tweeting these days, including celebrities and politicians. If you’re not on Twitter then you might as well not exist. Hence this tee which reworks Descarte’s famous “Cogito Ergo Sum” for the modern world.

The choice of a typewriter font is deliberate, reinforcing the role of social networking and Twitter as the modern equivalent of 20th century communication

I like T-shirt designs that are more than they seem at first sight. This one looks initially to be a standard RGB in a techno font. However there’s something not quite right about it…

The combination of the wrong colours with the letters produces a “cognitive dissonance”, something I’ve always found interesting. It also provides a talking point for anyone wanting to introduce themselves to you at a party!

As well as getting attention on a tee I think this design also works really well on a plain white mug – great for the office.
